This practice focuses on women who feel overwhelmed by chronic distress and anxiety related to work life or career. Many clients appear composed and successful on the outside but often struggle with "high performing" anxiety which may show us as chronic worrying, perfectionism, difficulty relaxing, imposter concerns, people pleasing, or constant fear of making a mistake.
No. This work is appropriate for both clinical and subclinical concerns. Some clients are navigating a formal diagnosis or feel in crisis, while others simply recognize that stress, anxiety, or self-doubt are limiting their personal or professional growth. Other clients seek guidance in enhancing performace, leadership, and overall personal development.
This often brings comfort to clients who initially seek coaching for what seems like a simple concern, only to discover during their sessions that underlying anxiety or mood symptoms are present-at which point a referral to a licensed practitioner becomes appropriate. As a licensed professional counselor associate, I am trained to support EACH of these populations, and we can move seamlessly between symptom relief and growth, depending on your goals.
That is completely okay. Many clients come in because they feel tense, on edge, or stuck even when nothing specific is happening at work. Together we can look at how stress and anxiety show up across your days -work, family, relationships, and health- and use the same solution-focused skills-based approach to help you feel more calm and in control.
Clients often com in for general anxiety (chronic worrying), public speaking anxiety (presentations), performance anxiety (evaluations, interviews), imposter syndrome, people pleasing, burnout, and perfectionism. Many also want help with work-life balance and feeling more confident in leadership or career decisions. Others mainly want to sharpen mental skills, change unhelpful thinking, improve relationships, and perform more confidently at work and at home. Many of the same evidence-based tools can be adapted to fit your goals, whether the focus is relief from suffering, optimizing performance, or both.
Yes. Although I specialize in anxiety, many clients have overlapping concerns such as low mood, intense self-criticism, or interpersonal relationships. These issues can be addressed as part of your treatment plan.
I practice TEAM Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is a theoretical orientation and framework for our work together, supported by what we know about how the brain handles emotions and learning- it utilizes methods and techniques from a number of therapeutic models. Sessions draw most heavily from CBT- considered the "gold standard" for all forms of anxiety. The focus is on understanding how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors may be reinforcing negative cycles- then building practical tools to respond differently.
Our first session is a 90-minute evaluation. This extended meeting usually allows us time to review your concerns, your relevant history, and what you would most like to change. We will discuss how counseling works, clarify goals, and decide if we are a good fit. If so, I will schedule you for 8-12 weekly sessions to ensure a convenient time for you is available and we can maintain the momentum of our work each week.
You can expect a mix of thoughtful conversation and hands-on strategies designed around your unique circumstances and goals. Some tools may feel natural and even enjoyable, while others might challenge you a bit more. Growth often takes courage, and I’ll never ask you to take those steps until you feel completely understood and supported. Establishing that trust is always my priority. Clients receive exercises, reflections, or small action steps between sessions so they can practice new skills in real-life situations.
I offer both 90-minute and 50-minute weekly sessions to build momentum and skills. Longer sessions allow us to achieve considerably more each session, often reducing the overall cost and time commitment of therapy. Over time, sessions may become less frequent as you feel more confident and independent using the tools.
Length of counseling varies based on your goal(s) and current stress level. In our work together, we'll focus on one specific concern at a time to ensure sessions feel purposeful rather than open-ended. While there are no guaranteed timelines, many clients notice changes in how they think and respond to anxiety within the first several weeks when they actively engage in the process. Some clients feel ready to conclude therapy after 8 to 12 sessions once they've gained control over their main concern. Others prefer to continue longer to address additional areas of life. The strategies and skills we use often carry over naturally to other challenges, so long-term therapy is rarely necessary. Many of my clients “graduate” knowing they can reach out in the future for a brief tune-up, while others schedule monthly or bimonthly check-ins to maintain progress.
Yes. I offer therapy sessions exclusively online through a secure private platform so you can meet from the comfort of your home or office -anywhere within South Carolina. This allows clients to enjoy the flexibility of early morning, lunchtime, or early afternoon appointments-eliminating travel time to therapy and helping to keep your evenings open for the things that matter most.
Current session fees are listed on this site under my “Services & Fees” page, and are discussed before scheduling, so you know the cost up front. Payment is made at the time-of-service using methods such as credit card or HSA/FSA.
Some clients use out-of-network benefits by submitting a statement (often called a superbill) to their insurance for possible reimbursement. Details about insurance, superbills, and eligibility are provided before you begin so you can make an informed choice.
A limited number of reduced-fee spots may be available based on financial need. If those spots are full, you can receive referrals to other providers or resources.
I require a 24-hour notice to cancel an appointment for any reason. If you provide the advanced notification, I will not charge you for the session. If you do not provide me with a 24-hour notification you will be charged for the missed session. If I can fill your slot at the last minute, I will not charge you for the cancelled session even if you give me less than 24-hour notice.
